Read-a-thon #1 - And we're off!

Dewey's Read-a-thon Blog

Comments:

I think to make it easier on myself during the read-a-thon, I'll just follow a post template, as suggested by a friend who did the October event. Blog posts always take me a long time when starting from scratch, and while I want to update, I want to maximize my reading time too, and allow time to visit others and cheer them on!

My biggest challenges today will be my tendency to have a short attention span and with getting sleepy. Reading relaxes me, so falling asleep is the natural outcome, and I'll probably have to change position and location a lot to stay awake, as I don't really want to rely too much on the caffeine method. I'll try to combat the attention span problem by reading shorter, teen, and larger print size books, so that I feel like I'm accomplishing something quickly, to follow one of the FAQ suggestions. I've got my stack of books all picked out, though I'll give in to whatever mood I'm in if I get the urge to read something in particular, not already chosen. I may also slip in chapters of larger books that I've started before the event, but will keep a page count specifically for the event if I do.

Beginnings are great, the potential of what could happen is exciting! Let's get to reading!

Here's my template that I'll follow:
