Hour 1 challenge:
Where are you reading from today? Mostly at home, but I may try a little while at a coffee shop, just for a change of scenery. I have lots of good reading spots at home though, the porch, the book room, the bed is always comfortable, but not so good for staying awake!
3 facts about me … I have an Anthropology degree, but I work in Accounting and Analysis, and I have 3 cats!
How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours? 20, but that's just so I have some choice!
Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, or number of comments on blogs)? Hmmm.. to enjoy myself, to try and do at least as well as last year, but otherwise no, because I don't want to pressure myself, I want this to be a fun and relaxing day!
If you’re a veteran read-a-thoner, any advice for people doing this for the first time? I don't think I'd call myself a veteran yet, I'm a second-timer, but if I were to give some advice, I'd say have a template ready for blog posts, but don't make it too complicated! I think I've done that this time unfortunately! Have a pool of books picked out ahead of time in a variety of genres that interest you, but if you're in the mood for something else that you didn't intend on, don't worry about it, go with what sounds good, if you try to force something else, it will be harder to read, if it's not what you're in the mood for!
