Book Giveaway: Atlantis Rising by Alyssa Day

Conlan, the high prince of Atlantis, has just escaped from seven years of torture at the hands of Anubisa, Goddess of Death, only to discover that the Trident of Poseidon, the most sacred symbol of power in Atlantis has been stolen. Conlan, along with Alaric, the high priest of Poseidon and his close friend, and the Seven, proud warriors sworn to protect the high prince and led by Conlan's brother Ven, go on a mission to retrieve the trident.

Riley is a social worker who often escapes to the beach to be near the ocean, finding it soothing to her soul, and that's where she is when Conlan and his band surface in their quest for the trident. Immediately the two are drawn to each other, into each other's thoughts and hearts, like nothing Riley or Conlan has ever experienced before. She is Aknasha, and her like has not been seen for thousands of years. Her very presence in his life will change everything.

This is a very busy book! In addition to hunky Atlantean warriors, we have vampires and shapeshifters, a biblical figure and yes, even Poseidon himself lets his presence be known! While I wasn't really drawn to Conlan himself, I did find myself interested in reading the later books which I hope will feature each of the Seven, and possibly Alaric. They each have some personality characteristics that would make their episodes interesting I think. I'm especially interested in Brennan, Justice and Alaric. Denal, the youngest of the group, was a sweetie too. It looks like book 3, Atlantis Unleashed is about Justice, and the short story Wild Hearts in Atlantis from the Anthology Wild Thing includes Bastien's story, another of the Seven. So hopefully we'll see the others somewhere down the line! Lots of Alpha Maleness going on here, lol!

I have alot of favourites though and can't narrow it down to one. I think it is just worth looking at my blog and seeing the reviews, pre-order list etc and realising that I have way to many I love ;)

  4. My favorite it vampires. Always found some really sexy and alluring about them. Second is ghosts stemming from some of the old romances I've read...particularly Stardust of Yesterday. Shape shifters are in third place for me.

Don't enter me in the drawing cause I already have this book.
Alyssa is a really nice lady. Had the pleasure of meeting her at a book signing a number of years ago with her first book, E-Mail to the Front under her name Alesia Holliday.

I can't pick just one, lol. I love vampires, werewolves, other were shifters, Fae, Demons, Angels, Mermaids, and pretty much any paranormal, supernatural beings. They're all fascinating to me. :)

  8. I'd love to win this, thanks.

Oh I have so many favorites and thinking of one I haven't read in a while and its a Selkie! (Yep love vamps and werewolves) but too so neat to read a Selkie but the heroes rock and can be so great a read! Now I want to see if there's any I haven't read! Cuz I've only read a couple, haven't found any others. (But heard an authors coming out with a series or similar theme)

Ooh this looks good! My fav paranormal creature to read about?? Hmm it is a tie between vampires and werewolves... Fav character- right now is Mercy (who is oddly enough neither of those) from author Patricia Briggs. Mercy is a 'walker' and can turn into a coyote.
