The Sunday Post #12

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted  @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

I tried bowling this past Sunday for the first time since I broke my arm back at the end of July!  I did it, and my arm didn't really hurt, but the rest of me sure did! I guess I hadn't used those muscles for awhile!

I did end up going to the dinner session of the library book club this month, and then had the morning session today, so I've already had book club twice in 2 weeks, and it's great!  Unfortunately now I have to wait until the first week of December to go again, since I can't make the lunch sessions, darn working! MOAR BOOKCLUB! ;)

Reviews:

Beasts of Extraordinary Circumstance - by Ruth Emmie Lang, reviewed for Netgalley.

Features (otherwise known as ALL THE VOTING!):

My TBR List:

The Upside of Unrequited was the winner for my November TBR List read, so I will be reading and reviewing that in the next couple of weeks!

Polls:

I've started a poll feature to last from now until the end of the year where you will help me pick what my best reads were!  Each week I will have a poll that lists the books I read in a particular month for you to vote what my best read that month was.  At the end of the year, I will run those 12 in a poll against each other, and when we have a winner I will host a giveaway for that book!

Even if you haven't read any of them, please vote on the one that interests you the most!

February - April are currently open for votes!

Here is February, it could use more votes!:  February Best Read Poll

March could use more votes as well! March Best Reads Poll

I have just posted the April Best Reads Poll

Please Vote!

  1. I haven't bowled in ages! Sounds fun. :)

And polling! Yay polls are always fun too lol.

Black Panther and Monstress both look good. And Pride and Prejudice and Mistletoe looks like holiday fun!

    1. It's amazing how many muscles you have to hurt though, when you haven't done something in awhile! lol! It looks easy, but this couch potato, desk jockey needs to get in better shape!

I have enjoyed Black Panther and Monstress both so far, the artwork in Monstress especially is just amazing! We'll see about Pride and Prejudice and Mistletoe, the reviews aren't great so far, but I'm willing to give it a try!

    1. It is definitely better, much faster than I imagined when I first broke it, that's for sure! I really didn't think I'd be back bowling before next year, but I'm going to try subbing for one of the ladies on my normal team on Monday, fingers crossed!

    1. I get to sub for one of the ladies my team Monday night, so fingers crossed that goes well! I'm usually on the team, but when I broke myself they had to make some adjustments, at least I'm back in the game! I'll get to Windfall eventually right? Because we'll definitely get to ALL those books someday, I know it! ;)

    1. I did enjoy it! Next month though they happen to fall 2 days apart, so that might be a little much in 3 days! lol! I won't have had a chance to read anything new! ;)

  6. How dare work getting in the way of your fun. LOL I wish we had book clubs around here. I keep checking at the library but haven't found one in any genres I enjoy.

  8. You've checked out so many great comic books from the library! I haven't read black panther yet, but I have read the other ones and they are all AMAZING especially Ms. Marvel and Monstress.

  9. I think in 2018 I'm going to make it a point to join a book club. But I wanna find one for smutty books and that's hard to come by in the Bible Belt. Well, in person anyways. Bowling sounds fun, but yes, I can imagine it can make a girl sore when using muscles that haven't been exercised in awhile :)
