Gloriana St. Clair is not your usual thin, pale and brooding vamp, she's all woman, with a great sense of style! Present day finds her leaving Las Vegas and moving to Austin, Texas, to make a new start with her own store, where she wants to sell vintage clothing and whatnot, and who would have more of that, or a better knowledge of it than a vampire? Glory was made back in the day of Billy Shakespeare by her on again off again lover Angus Jeremiah Campbell III, or Blade for short. Once in Austin she has more to contend with than she ever expected, with a technologically advanced vampire hunter on the trail of her and her friends. Glory refuses to run however, she's determined to make a new and successful start for herself. Go Female Vamp Power!
Real Vampires Have Curves was a lot of fun, with Blade and new hot vamp acquaintance Damian constantly vying to be first in Glory's affections, and many humorous secondary characters playing supporting roles as the group tries to combat the vampire hunter that is threatening them.
I'm looking forward to the rest of the series:
Real Vampires Live Large (2007)
Real Vampires Get Lucky (2008)
Real Vampires Don't Diet (2009)

I totally love Katie Macalister's series:
ReplyDeleteAisling Grey - Light My Fire, You Slay Me, Holy Smokes & Fire Me Up!
Her new Silver Dragons is starting off great as well - Playing with Fire and I'm waiting on Up In Smoke.
Her Dark Ones are also SPECTACULAR - A Girl's Guide to Vampires, Sex and the Single Vampire, Sex, Lies, and Vampires, Even Vampires Get the Blues & Last of the Red Hot Vampires
Katie combines paranormal happenings, romance, smokin' hot erotic scenes, & humor that goes from giggles & snickers to full out laughing were people think you've lost it.
I always thought Mark Henry's Happy Hour of the Damned was a great title. BTW, I absolutely love your name.

SHG, there is no such thing as too big of a TBR pile!
ReplyDeleteMichelle, I actually have most of those and just haven't gotten to them yet, so I'm definitely looking forward to them, have heard nothing but greatness!
icedream, that is really too funny! I can't claim it's my real name, but I do love it, and have used it as my online persona for a long time now!
The only paranormal humour series I've had a chance to try was the Undead and Unwed series by Maryjanice Davidson. I rather enjoyed them, and would definitely be willing to read more!

At the moment my favorite paranormal series is Charlaine Harris' Sookie books, followed closely by The Black Dagger Brotherhood by J. R. Ward, and also LKH's Merry and Anita Blake series.
ReplyDeleteAnother series I recently discovered but have a hard time labeling as paranormal (although it does have some elements to it) is Madelyn Alt's Bewitching mysteries.
This series sounds great! I have got to read these whether or not I win so I'm going to put in an ILL for them since my library doesn't have anything by this author :(
My favorite for humorous would be the series that includes: Undead and Unwed by Mary Janice Davidson. simply outstanding wit and wisdom within.
ReplyDeleteFor the erotic, give me Laurell K Hamilton anyday.
Love a chance to read this book,

Let's see, Katie MacAlister has already been mentioned, what about Kimberly Raye? Her Dead End Dating series is really funny and the titles are great too.
ReplyDeleteYou know I really don't have one. The genre has been intriguing me for the past year or so, and I've heard a lot of good stuff about this author. That's why I'd love to win.

ReplyDeleteI love the Undead and.... series by Mary Janice Davidson. They are particularly funny as audios!
ReplyDeletejezebelsk - I'm glad to hear that about the audios, I've read the first one, and have some of the others, but kept thinking that they might be fun as audios, since audible does carry them, I might have to give them a try!
ReplyDeleteHappy Hour of the Damned by Mark Henry

I loved Gena Showalter's Atlantis books, and her book Playing With Fire had me laughing out loud too! Another author who's paranormals always make me laugh is Jennifer Rardin's Jaz Parks series. I love the previously mentioned authors too. :)
