WWW Wednesdays 10/6/10

To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…

* What are you currently reading?
* What did you recently finish reading?
* What do you think you’ll read next?

Then head on over to Should be Reading and leave a comment with a link to your post so others can see!

I'm currently reading:

Free image hosting at imagecave.comYour Big Break by Johanna Edwards -- Dani Myers has become an expert at romantic breakups ever since she was hired to "facilitate" them for clients of Your Big Break, Inc. In other words, she dumps people for money. But company rule #5 (do not get personally involved) is getting harder to obey. One of her dumpees is turning out to be the kind of guy she might just want to pick up on the rebound. and a new client has just walked in, begging for Dani's help breaking up with The Big Jackass, who's been leading her on all this time-and now turns out to be married. It would be a routine job except for one problem: the so-called Big Jackass is married to none other than Dani's mother.
Free image hosting at imagecave.comDragon Temple Saga #3, Forged by Fire by Janine Cross -- this has been a very dark and gritty fantasy trilogy, I can't really say that I like it, but I also have to know how it turns out, so I would say that does mean it's good! The story is very solid, it's just brutal!
Free image hosting at imagecave.comI'm listening to The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson -- So I'm not quite halfway through now, and it's well written, and I'm a little more interested, I like Salander, but I'm still not quite understanding why this is getting so much attention. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it isn't good, and it could just be that it's too far from my normal tastes for me to really get into it. I would be interested to know what others liked about it, just because I'm curious, I want to make sure I'm not missing out! But then again, I do have a little over halfway to go, so maybe I'm just not there yet!

Since last Wednesday I finished reading:

Free image hosting at imagecave.comFirespell (Dark Elite #1) by Chloe Neill -- Good and selfless vs. selfish and evil in the bowels of a boarding school. It was a fun read, I'll be picking up the next one when it's out. I liked Scout, she was a good character.

Possibly up next:

Free image hosting at imagecave.comThe Summoning (Darkest Powers #1) by Kelley Armstrong -- My name is Chloe Saunders and my life will never be the same again. All I wanted was to make friends, meet boys, and keep on being ordinary. I don't even know what that means anymore. It all started on the day that I saw my first ghost - and the ghost saw me. Now there are ghosts everywhere and they won't leave me alone. To top it all off, I somehow got myself locked up in Lyle House, a "special home" for troubled teens. Yet the home isn't what it seems. Don't tell anyone, but I think there might be more to my housemates than meets the eye. The question is, whose side are they on? It's up to me to figure out the dangerous secrets behind Lyle House . . . before its skeletons come back to haunt me.

So I'm not really adding anything new to the roster yet, I'll be participating in Dewey's read-a-thon this coming weekend, and I have a whole stack of books picked out to choose from for it. Who else is doing Dewey's? I know a few of you are as I've already seen you comment. Have you done the read-a-thon before? I'm a second timer and am really looking forward to it!

If you made it down to the end here and haven't already seen it, be sure and check out my giveaway offering on the sidebar, a $25 GC to the Literacy Site Store, to be awarded on 10/10/10!

  3. I enjoyed Firespell, it was fun :) As for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, I read it a few months ago. It was kinda hard for me to get into it at the beginning, it's not an easy read, but it was still good! I'll definitely read the sequels in the future :) Happy reading!!!

  5. I haven't understood all the hoopla over the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I haven't read it and haven't any plans to. It just doesn't sound like my kind of book.

    Your Big Break sounds interesting.

    thanks for stopping by!

  6. Shaunesay glad you popped over to my WWW post a little while ago, like you liked Scout and am waiting for Chloe Neill to release Hexbound so can get back to the adventure!

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo was everywhere in the bookstores I was in yesterday, along with other popular reads right now.....

I so hope you do start The Darkest Powers trilogy by Kelley Armstrong, they like the YA by Chloe are easy to read and also, even with some of the darker content, without the brutality you just read in your
    Dragon Temple Saga trilogy!

Happy reading whatever you choose next...

  7. I haven't read the book, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo but I watched the movie (Swedish version) and I'll watch the American version when it's released.
I'd liked to read the whole series if I ever find the time.

  12. Earlier this week I finally signed up for the read-a-thon. This will be my first time participating. I don't really have a game plan other than already having in the house the first of the Harry Potter Series (which I've never read) and the Lightning Thief. I'm beginning to think I should start working on one!
